Ramond also assumes the role of President at Black Tradesmen United States, a black-owned construction networking firm that originated in Los Angeles in 2018. What began as a modest assembly of construction trade professionals has since evolved into a proactive outreach organization with a dedicated mission to safeguard and champion the rights of Black construction workers across the United States.

His career boasts significant achievements, with a decade-long tenure in the construction industry as a Journeyman Carpenter and a proud affiliation with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC). During this time, he played a pivotal role in the construction of iconic structures and vital infrastructure across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino County.

Ramond’s journey commenced immediately after high school when he ventured into technical fields, earning a livelihood through manual labor. His initial role as a Technician at General Dynamics, the nation’s leading ground defense contractor, saw him contributing to the repair of the U.S. Army’s ‘Stryker’ armored personnel carriers.

Beyond his construction career, Ramond’s professional trajectory encompasses executive positions in the finance and insurance industries. As an operations Manager, he adeptly led and trained front-line implementation teams. In 2010, his role in successfully overseeing the deployment of Toys ‘R’ Us pop-up retail stores, known as ‘Toys ‘R’ Us Express,’ in the greater Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley regions demonstrated his versatility and proficiency.

Furthermore, his commitment to addressing racially charged discriminatory hiring practices within the construction industry prompted his transition into an active labor leader and advocate for marginalized workers. A native of South-Central Los Angeles, Mr. Walker’s personal experiences growing up in a financially disadvantaged family have uniquely sensitized him to the needs of working families and their pursuit of a livable wage. These experiences have continually fueled his dedication to assisting those grappling with food insecurity and limited opportunities, giving profound purpose to his career path.
